For those 14 years and older we have a Surf Lifeguard programme. You can train to become a qualified Surf Lifeguard, learning all aspects of safety on our beaches and become a valued member of a great team down here at Pukehina Surf Rescue.
Swim training is available twice a week to develop water confidence and fitness and is held at the Pongakawa School Pool with confidence on Saturday mornings from 10:30am (parental supervision required) and lessons on Wednesdays as follows:
Nip Nips, Under 7's: 5:30 - 6.00pm
All others: 6.00 - 7.00pm
Club trainings for Junior Surf members with 200m badge, and lifeguards takes place at the club on Mondays and Thursdays beginning at 5.30pm sharp. Please bring appropriate swimwear/ clothing for environmental conditions along with shoes, towels, sun protection, water bottle and snacks to all sessions.
Sausage sizzle and drinks are available to purchase on Sundays from midday, with all Junior Surf families expected to assist with the BBQ roster at least once throughout the season (full training provided)
